The Rumrunner
The Rumrunner was our first frame, and it took nearly seven years to get right. We set out to build the perfect circular silhouette — balanced, versatile, slightly fashion forward, and timeless enough to outlive trends.
What emerged was a frame that has a way of becoming indispensable. Designed to subtly pull people out of their shell while remaining effortless to wear, the Rumrunner somehow manages to look good on nearly everyone despite never being designed with that intention.
Unisex by design and built to become a future classic, the Rumrunner is the pair people reach for long after newer sunglasses come and go.
The Headliner
The Headliner draws inspiration from the timeless elegance of mid-century glamour — the kind of frame that would have felt equally at home alongside Audrey Hepburn on the Riviera as it does today on a boat, at lunch, or disappearing behind the wheel of a vintage convertible.
Designed to be refined without feeling delicate, the Headliner balances femininity, versatility, and understated confidence through a softened cat-eye silhouette that feels both classic and remarkably easy to wear.
Like every Bisous frame, the Headliner carries the brand’s signature attention to proportion, balance, and enduring design — built not for a season, but for years of effortless use.
The Waterdog
The Waterdog was designed for those drawn to the Bisous philosophy of thoughtful design and craftsmanship, but with a silhouette rooted in timeless familiarity. Slightly larger in scale and more understated in profile, the Waterdog carries a confident versatility that feels equally at home offshore, behind the wheel, or worn every day for years on end.
Produced in limited runs and intentionally lightweight, the frame combines classic lines with the brand’s obsessive attention to proportion, balance, and detail — delivering a pair of sunglasses that feels immediately comfortable without sacrificing character.
The Square - Full Rim
The Square Full Rim began alongside the Rumrunner nearly seven years ago, born from the same obsession with proportion, balance, and timeless design. While the circular silhouette came together first, the square proved far more difficult to perfect — requiring years of refinement before finally reaching the standard we were searching for in 2025.
The result is a frame that carries the same Bisous philosophy as the Rumrunner: slightly fashion forward, deeply versatile, and designed with the intention of becoming a future classic rather than following a passing trend.
Where the Rumrunner offers a softer and more expressive silhouette, the Square Full Rim delivers a more architectural presence through confident lines and subtle structure. Together, the two frames form the foundation of the Bisous collection — complementary interpretations of the same design language for different instincts, moods, and personal styles.
The Square - Half Rim
The Square Half Rim carries the exact same proportions and silhouette as the Square Full Rim, but with the lower portion of the acetate carefully removed to create a lighter, more minimal interpretation of the frame.
While subtle in construction, the effect is entirely different in wear. The exposed lower lens creates a cleaner visual profile and a slightly more technical, architectural feel while preserving the balance and timeless design language that define the Bisous collection.
Together, the Full Rim and Half Rim variations allow for remarkably different expressions of the same frame — offering subtle shifts in weight, color, and character that make it possible to find a version that feels uniquely suited to both personal style and facial structure.

LENSES
Our lenses are manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility and crafted from CR-39 — a premium optical polymer prized for its exceptional clarity, lightweight feel, and optical performance comparable to glass at nearly half the weight.
Every Bisous lens is polarized and UV400 rated, blocking 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays while reducing glare on and off the water.
Originally developed during World War II for use in military aircraft applications, CR-39 became known for its combination of optical precision, durability, and scratch resistance. To further improve longevity, all Bisous lenses receive an additional impact-resistant hard coating.
HINGES
After years of searching, we partnered with a specialized German manufacturer known for producing exceptionally durable hinges engineered for long-term performance and structural integrity.
A well-made hinge is critical to how a frame feels over time — maintaining tension, alignment, and the solid construction that keeps a pair of sunglasses feeling substantial year after year.
Every pair of Bisous includes a custom precision screwdriver for simple adjustments and long-term care.

FRAMES
Our frames are handcrafted from custom-milled Italian cellulose acetate and precision-machined metal components, individually assembled to create a frame that feels substantial, balanced, and built to last.
Unlike injection-molded petroleum-based plastics commonly used in lower-quality eyewear, acetate carries its color and pattern throughout the material itself rather than relying on surface coatings or painted finishes. The result is a richer appearance, greater depth, and a frame that ages beautifully over time.
Metal elements are carefully integrated directly into the acetate construction, creating exceptional structural integrity while preserving the refined feel expected of a luxury frame.
Serial Number
Every Bisous frame is produced in a limited run and individually marked with its own serial number — a detail more commonly associated with fine watches and collector automobiles than eyewear. It reflects our obsession with precision, craftsmanship, and permanence.
When a colorway is reproduced, a letter is added behind the series number, ensuring every frame from every production run remains entirely unique. Serialization also allows us to authenticate limited editions and support long-term service and replacement requests with accuracy.
And admittedly, it makes it much easier to track down your sunglasses when you can’t understand why yours are missing and your significant other suddenly has a suspiciously nice new pair of shades.
Balance
Every Bisous frame is designed with an obsessive attention to balance, proportion, and feel — from the weight distribution of the frame to the precise angles of the hinges and temples. Small details, often invisible at first glance, are what separate a pair of sunglasses that merely looks good from one that feels inherently right the moment you put it on.
If the Vitruvian Man wore sunglasses, we like to think they would be Bisous.
Nosepads
Traditional nose pads have a tendency to loosen, bend, catch hair, and wear over time. Bisous frames are designed solve this - with integrated sculpted nose rests to create a cleaner silhouette, improved durability, and a more secure fit.
They will never get caught in your hair.
Subtle grooving is incorporated into the contact surfaces to help reduce slippage during wear, while a continuous internal metal structure reinforces the front of the frame for exceptional strength and long-term stability.
FACIAL RECOGNITION
No one should have to remove their sunglasses just to use their phone. Bisous frames are designed to remain compatible with modern facial recognition on your phone — because thoughtful functionality should never be overlooked in the pursuit of good design.
